What if you got to be you?

What if you got to do whatever you wanted to. What would that be? For instance, if you had the money and time and people to do whatever you wanted to, what would you start doing tomorrow and what would you stop doing tomorrow?

What’s the difference between the people who are doing what they want to do and people the people who are not? Is it money? Opportunities? Or will?

Is your future up to God or is it up to you? Are you being controlled by forces outside of yourself, or do you just think someone else is pulling the strings?

Is your future pre-determined and all you have to do is get it right? If so, why is it so hard to know what that future is?

Is there one perfect place, wife or husband, job, house, Dalmatian for you? Or is there a number of places and people you could spend your life with?

What if the silence we hear in asking for directions is God saying, ” Wrong question!” What if the right question was asking for the boldness to be yourself?

What would you do if you got to do anything you wanted, and what would you stop doing?

Any takers?

  1. Thats a lot of questions to answer. About a year ago i would have thought most of the ideas you were eluding to in those questions were preposterous. Within this last year i have been taken from a fatalistic to a freewill mindset. I had always believed in freewill but i had rarely put it into use (i was afraid i would mess up freewill!). Now that i realize the freedom i have in Christ (the freedom to not live in a state of paralysis) i have begun to live life in such a way that i dont categorize interests i have from things that God is speaking to me about.I see them one and the same.

    Q) What if you got to do whatever you wanted to. What would that be?

    A) I feel as though i am working on being able to do what i want to do. At this point in my life i am still trying to work out “what” i want to do with my life and i am dedicated to the process of doing what is neeeded to reach a longterm goal.
