Holly & Julie Kricher - Good Neighbors...
Holly and Julie are sisters living in San Francisco. They recently bought a home in a really cool neighborhood because they are, well, neighbors. Holly works for a robotics company and Julie works for Levi's. They are professionals, worshipers, great friends, instigators and networkers. Their home is a work of art, and beauty and music is part of everything they do and are. They're pretty much just inspiring people.
Part of what they do is start groups of Christians in the city that want to find out more about God and their future. One such group is the Aberdeen's. Matthew works at Lucas Arts and is one of the other guys who kicked this off with them. They are all seeking out a better understanding of God, their identity and the city because their lives are integrated. They have this great assimilation going whereby they see their place in SF as a blessing to the neighborhood, their work communities and their creativity.
I think this is another aspect of these growing communities. People are buying homes and planting themselves instead of floating from place to place, homeless like. These guys love their neighborhood and their city. They show this love in practical way, from driving kids who missed the bus to school to starting up fellowship groups across the city. They are figuring out love and family and work, all with God at the center.
